Conducting at Royal Holloway: A snapshot

As part of my role as Lecturer in Music Composition at Royal Holloway University of London, I have the pleasure of working with students on a whole range of new notes. As the new music specialist on the conducting faculty, I also often venture into the rehearsal room to work with composers and performers alike to bring a whole load of new works to life.

March 2023 has been a particularly hectic month at the College working on new film scores with our music tech cohort and our Symphony Orchestra at Royal Holloway, an immersive orchestration session for a lecture module I convene, a concert with my groups New Music Collective and New Voices Consort of music by Caroline Shaw and Gavin Bryars, and two days of intensive workshops with a special study composers and the amazing CHROMA ensemble.
