Nathan returns as Festival Manager for Chamber Music on Valentia

Nathan returns as Festival Manager for Chamber Music on Valentia's 2020 Festival, assisting with diverifying its digtal and global presence in light of the circumstances 2020 has brought us.

For the first time, thhis international chamber music festival loctaed on Valentia Island (Co. kerry, Ireland) moved online for this year’s festival between 13 – 16 August 2020 with performances from outstanding Irish and international performers from both sides of the Atlantic, headed up by Nathan and the festival's Artistic Director, Mary Dullea.

The festival welcomes the Fidelio Trio and violinist Philippa Mo to celebrate the music of Moeran and Deirdre McKay (2020 Featured Composer). Irish pianist Catha Breslin brings a stellar piano recital including their tribute to Beethoven in this 250th anniversary year and their closing concert celebrates the 350th anniversary of the birth of Turlough Carolan. Oraginsied and promoted by Nathan, the festival also presents a specially commissioned digital installation focused on the sights and sounds of ‘An Dairbhre’.

It is a spectacular location as one of Ireland’s most westerly points, steeped in history (ancient and recent) and boasts a host of stunning venues. Founded in 2014, Chamber Music on Valentia presents an annual festival of international stature throughout Valentia Island.

Thematically resonating with this backdrop, it connects performers and audience with inspirational performances in authentic settings, produces novel outreach activities and fosters a rich connection with the music and the performers.
