We warmly welcome back Fidelio Trio to Royal Holloway for an evening of music which explores the relationships between sound, space, light, and the physical world around us.

The programme brings together music that asks us to listen differently, exploring how sound can evoke environments, materials and spaces beyond the immediately audible. Among the featured works is Nathan James Dearden's under the earth for piano trio and electronics, which considers the hidden spaces beneath the surface and extends the acoustic sound of the trio through electronics. Alongside it, Kaija Saariaho's Light and Matter explores the meeting of sound and physical space through shifting textures, colour and resonance.

These works sit within a wider programme that invites us to consider the ways music can transform our perception of the environments we inhabit.

This event is presented as part of the International Concert Series 2026-27 - The Sounding World- at Royal Holloway.
