Nathan is the recipient of the inaugural Acapela Studio Award for Composers
Rwy’n gyffrous iawn i glywed fy mod am dderbyn Gwobr Stiwdio Acapela i gyfansoddwyr Cymdeithas Cerddoriaeth Cymru.
I am excited to hear that I am the inaugural recipient of the Acapela Studio Award for Composers from the Welsh Music Guild, to record and promote the music of exceptional Welsh composers.
Nominator and Secretary for the Welsh Music Guild, Dr Jeremy Huw Williams, comments:
“As the inaugural recipient of the Paul Mealor Award for Young Composers in 2017, Nathan James Dearden was the natural choice for the inaugural Acapela Studio Award for Composers, which will enable his winning work from 2017 to be commercially recorded for release in 2021.”
The Award will be presented by the Welsh Music Guild, Patron Paul Mealor OStJ OSS FRSA, and President Captain Sir Norman Lloyd-Edwards KCVO GCStJ JP RNR, at a ceremony on Sunday 14 June at The Cardiff and County Club, Wales. The prize associated with the award consists of a commerical audio and visual recording of i sleep alone at Acapela Studios (Cardiff, UK) for promotional release in 2021.
