Nathan appointed Lecturer in Music Composition at Royal Holloway University of London

Nathan has been appointed Lecturer in Music Composition at the Department of Music at Royal Holloway University of London, starting October 2023.

This is a part-time, permanent Lectureship in Music Composition, playing an important role, spanning teaching, research, and administration, in an ambitious team of composers at one of the UK’s leading HE music departments.

About the role

As an experienced teacher, Nathan will contribute to the teaching and development of the Department’s composition programmes at undergraduate and MMus levels, and to direct student performances of new music, as well as to share in the administrative duties involved in our composition programmes. As befits a leading Music research department, Nathan’s ongoing research and creative work will aim to contribute to and enhance its national and international status in the field of composition.

Nathan will be required to contribute to the general academic administration of the department and school, play a full role in relevant committees, and contribute to assessment and examination procedures. He will also contribute to recruitment activity such as student applicant visitor days and other schools liaison, plus also developing interdisciplinary initiatives with other departments within and beyond the School of Performing & Digital Arts that support innovative research and teaching.
