'No other haven' with Sinfonia Cymru and Cerddwn

No other haven is a series of short reflections on Wales’ rich trad music. These four tunes for oboe and bassoon not only celebrate aspects of Welsh jigs, reels, and airs, but are short responses to our connection with these traditions. Tunes are misremembered, altered, spring out of unusual contexts, repeated, or forgotten altogether. This work combines existing tunes the reimagined and new - old meets new.

This work was commissioned by Cerddwn, for performance in Spring 2024 by members of Sinfonia Cymru.
