Premiere BBC Radio 3 broadcast for Nathan's 'First Service'

Nathan’s First Service receives its premiere performance on 26 January 2022, as part of BBC Radio 3’s Choral Evensong live from Royal Holloway University of London.

Commissioned by Paul John Layzell, DL, CEng, FBCS, FHEA, First Service has been specially written as the first canticle setting for the Choir of Royal Holloway University of London, their conductor Rupert Gough, and Senior Organ Scholar George Nicholls.

Nathan’s First Service will be presented alongside his ‘Let all the world in ev’ry corner sing’ (from his 2021 choral suite, Full of sweet days) as an Introit, and music by George Arthur and James Macmillan. The service will be broadcast live from the Chapel at Royal Holloway University of London, in front of a live congregation, and to around 300,000 listeners from around the world.
