‘silent stones’ for the BBC Singers

Following a year of reflection on my relationship with people and places, it seemed the right moment to have received this commission for ‘The Music & Meditation Podcast’ on BBC Radio 3 which is specifically to be included in an epsiode which looks at our relationship with softening social anxiety.

This condition is something I have recieved several rounds of treatment for in recent years, and one of the remedies has been the stillness and silence found in large, empty spaces. ‘silent stones’ is an improvisation and reimagining of an existing work of mine - ‘Locus iste’.

This work was commissioned for the BBC Singers, members of the BBC Concert Orchestra, and conductor Sarah Latto for broadcast and release in spring 2025.
