Trip to Britten Sinfonia HQ: A snapshot
I had a fantastic trip to Britten Sinfonia HQ this week to catch-up with Meurig Bowen and the team and hear about all of the work this innovative/exciting/important music group has done and continues to do. It has been a real privilege to get this insight into an arts organisation so close to my heart, who has been key to my recent development as a music creator.
I managed to snap a couple of these amazing event posters, as a reminder of the jaw-dropping and innovative projects they have done that many art organisations would think innovative in 2023 (note the dates)…
Support Britten Sinfonia
In response to news that Britten Sinfonia will lose 100% of their regular Arts Council England National Portfolio funding, they have launched an urgent appeal, Play On, asking everyone who cares about high-quality music making in the East of England and beyond.
Please visit their appeal page and help them PLAY ON.
In addition to donating to their Play On appeal, there are many ways to support the orchestra, whether it is joining one of their five Membership schemes (from as little as £50 per year), making a one-off donation, supporting specific campaigns, helping us commission new music through Musically Gifted, or leaving Britten Sinfonia a gift in your will.
Your gift will support their exceptional players performing incredible music with the most exciting collaborators whilst also supporting our Learning & Participation programmes which see them work with young people and disadvantaged communities throughout the east of England.
In light of the recent restructuring of Arts Council England’s funding, their National Portfolio funding will be withdrawn in 2023, meaning your donations are more important now than ever.
Ticket sales alone are not enough to support their ambition, so every gift, large or small, really does help. If you are interested in an orchestra that does things differently, that makes bold choices, and has a fearless approach to music making I invite you to experience more than just their concerts and join our growing family of supporters.
